Carl-Henri Prophète

Lead Economist

Carl-Henri Prophète is JESCA Solutions’ Lead Economist, bringing over a decade of international experience in macroeconomic policy, structural transformation, and private sector development across Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean. His expertise spans economic diagnostics, fiscal reform, monetary policy, and inclusive growth strategies.

He has worked as a consultant for central banks and international institutions, including the Banque de la République d’Haïti, where he contributed to research and policy recommendations on remittances, inflation control, and exchange rate dynamics. From 2017 to 2018, he served as a Government Provided Advisor at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), supporting economic policy and institutional reform in low-income countries. His work also examines the behavior and strategies of banks in these contexts, offering insight into financial sector dynamics and access to finance in fragile economies.

Currently based on the African continent, Carl-Henri is always looking for economic lessons in the world around him. He shares these insights through articles, podcasts, and public commentary—bridging technical analysis with grounded, real-world observation.

Carl-Henri holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy with a focus on International Development from the University of Maryland School of Public Policy, where he wrote his thesis on Foreign Aid and Government Effectiveness: A Cross-Country Empirical Analysis. He also earned an M.Sc. in Economics from the Université de Montréal, where his research explored the Twin Deficit Hypothesis in the Caribbean. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Université Quisqueya in Haiti.

At JESCA Solutions, Carl-Henri leads economic analysis and strategy, advising public and private sector clients on the design of evidence-based policies and sustainable development models. He plays a key role in shaping JESCA’s approach to building resilient and inclusive economies.
